Feel sorry for Mozilo yet?

One of the biggest contributors to the mortage mess is Angelo Mozilo, CEO of Countrywide.  That guy is a piece of work.   While he's been dumping millions of dollars of stock in his company just before the inevitable bankruptcy of Countrywide,  his customers are losing their homes to foreclosure.   I've never heard him say he cares.

People like Mozilo want to keep making subprime loans to people who can never repay them.  After all, their only motive is a high share price today....tomorrow be damned.

Mozilo also said current guidelines proposed by regulators will exacerbate problems in the housing market.

"The reason why people can't sell their houses is there is no buyers around," Mozilo said. "And there are no buyers around because they can't get the financing."

 Here's my version:

Schahrzad Berkland said curerent guidelines proposed by regulators will bring stability back to the housing market.

"The reason why people can't sell their houses is they're asking too much,," Berkland said.  "And the reason they are asking too much is because they don't get it, that the boom is over."

"Another reason some people can't sell their houses is because the buyers can't get financing.  And the reason they can't get financing is because they are bad credit risks."

Hi PS,

Just a quick suggestion. I would like to see you have two separate sections for your articles: one type is quick comments, like this one. Another type is in-depth analysis, which is your trademark.

I like both. Because you separate them out, you can have more quick comments and later on compile some of them into an indepth analysis.

Just a thought.

Thanks, I love to get feedback, especially when it's criticism. That helps me improve! So thanks.

I have a section called In the News, where this could go. Would that be better?

And the reason they can't get the financing is they can't prove that they can repay the loans.
